I’m used to the old school methods of registration. How does HomeField’s Online Registration system work?
Gone are the days of waiting in long lines with checkbook in hand. HomeField allows you to register players online, anytime. Along with ease and reliability, HomeField eliminates the need to staff in-person registration drives. Finally, volunteers get a break from countless hours of entering data and deciphering illegible handwriting. Not to mention, reducing the reliance on a paper trail is the ‘green’ thing to do!
How can parents register players online?
It’s so easy! We’ll provide a link from your league’s website to the HomeField registration platform. Here, parents are prompted to set up an account by entering an email address and password. Our comprehensive, easy-to-use system allows parents the convenience of registering players at their own pace, 24/7.
Our league requires copies of birth certificates from first time players, and medical release forms from every player each season. How can we validate this documentation when using HomeField?
Registrants will send their birth certificates, medical release forms, and any other necessary documents by mail to the league administrator. With HomeField, leagues can track each player’s registration status by creating a “checklist” of league requirements that can be updated once players submit the necessary items. Lists can easily be sorted to indicate any players whose registration is incomplete.
Some parents have more than one child in the league. Does HomeField allow leagues the opportunity to offer discounted registration fees to families with more than one child in the league?
HomeField allows leagues to set a fee for the first child and another for a subsequent child. Additionally, with the “family registration” option, our system will remember the information provided for one player’s account (address, phone numbers, etc.) and will automatically update additional registrants from the same family.
I love this idea, but we already have a league website. Can we still work with HomeField?
Of course you can! We can provide a link from any website to HomeField’s registration platform.
Our community fosters the development of many different types of sports leagues. Do you provide services for more than one sport?
We work with baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer, football and swim clubs, to name a few. The HomeField platform is flexible and can accommodate almost any community organization. As long as fees are gathered and a database of players and/or volunteers is maintained, we’re good to go!
How can HomeField assist our league in enlisting parent volunteers?
With HomeField, the league can enlist the help of parent volunteers during the registration checkout process. The league administrator can create a customized list of volunteer tasks and assign them to all the volunteers who make your league run! You also have the option to collect league donations, making it a breeze to generate further financial support for your league
How many League Administrators does HomeField allow?
There is one “super-user” that has full access to your league’s information. This “super-user” can grant access to other administrators, volunteers and appropriate parties as needed. A secure user name and password is always required to log on to HomeField as an administrator.
We keep track of all of our league’s information on a single Board Member’s computer. What’s the advantage of switching to HomeField?
There are many benefits to using HomeField. For one, you’ll no longer have to contact your registrar each time you need a player’s information. Once access is granted, league administrators can quickly log on and locate data with a few simple clicks. Internet access and a web browser are the only requirements to use our services - no added software or tricky downloads are necessary! Gone are the days of sweating over mass amounts of valuable information lost when a computer crashes. HomeField backs up everything online in one safe, secure, and easily accessible place!
Do you charge monthly fees for your registration services? Do we need to sign a long-term contract?
HomeField does not charge any recurring fees for the use of our services. There’s no obligation to sign a long-term contract. You are able to discontinue use of the application at any time, without penalty.
Do we have to contact HomeField each time we need to make a change to the content?
Nope! Most often, you can make the changes yourselves. HomeField provides easy-to-use tools to help you with making changes and presenting additional information to registrants.
I really want to do this, but computers just aren’t my thing. What if I have questions and need help?
No worries! HomeField is an easy-to-navigate, user-friendly tool that can be picked up by just about anyone. Though if you should need some help, just give us a call. Our experienced, courteous and well-rounded staff is available Monday-Friday, 9-5 pm year-round.
On-line registration sounds like a great idea but what’s the cost?
HomeField charges a nominal fee to each registrant. Per player pricing is based on league size. For payments received by credit cards, standard PayPal and credit card fees apply. The league can opt to cover the fees, or pass charges through to registrants. There’s also a convenient “pay by check” option that eliminates credit card fees altogether. Leagues can turn on/off either payment method with the click of a button.
This is fantastic! Unfortunately, I’m not the decision maker for my league. How can I convince the league representative/President to sign up for HomeField?
Give them a call or send an email. Ask your fellow team parents and Board Members to do the same. Be sure to highlight the most important benefit of signing up for HomeField - less work and more play!
Is there a way to take HomeField for a test drive?
You bet! You have the option to test HomeField out for FREE before committing. Just sign up, request an account and you’ll be able to log on. The system will run in TESTING mode, so while you’ll be able to add information, edit content, generate reports, etc.
Some people may be hesitant to submit their children’s personal information online. Is your website secure?
Yes! HomeField provides a certified and secure data center. The only information that is stored in our system is the player’s name, age, and basic team membership. We do NOT require users to submit social security numbers, addresses or any other personal data. Only those individuals with authorized access can view players’ information.
